The president has visited Almaty

“Almaty makes almost the fifth part of an internal national produce and gives more than a quarter of the income of the state budget, – the president has told. “Therefore the state doesn't spare for transfers of money for the decision of problems of southern capital. Today in Almaty all elements of structure of a modern megacity are created. It surpasses all cities of the Central Asia and some regional centers of Russia. Really, gross national product of Almaty four times more than at Tashkent, in one and a half time than at Novosibirsk and twice than at Omsk. The standard of living of Almaty citizens grows: the monthly average salary has over the last ten years grown five times, life expectancy has increased for three years, and birth rate level has increased twice. According to the international experts, Almaty has entered into the list of global cities of the world along with Detroit, Edinburgh, Manchester and St.-Petersburg. It is recognized by collars of the central-Asian region in world economy. Last year in Almaty an industrial output it is made on 370 billion tenge. Thus manufacturing industry growth has made 40 percent. On a city 27 percent of volume of production of small and average business of all country is necessary. For last year it is constructed more than one million square meters of habitation, problems of five thousand shareholders are solved. It is created three thousand places in kindergartens. The city perinatal center, an antitubercular clinic, "the first aid" hospital, three polyclinics are constructed, building of two versatile hospitals proceeds. Nominal monetary incomes of the population have made 88 thousand tenge per person. That is 17 percent more than last year. “These achievements became possible thanks to work of all inhabitants of Almaty, harmonious work of executive powers, active interaction of city Akims (mayors) with the population, considerable support of the state”, Noursultan Nazarbayev has underlined.

In the report Akim (mayor) of Almaty Ahmetzhan Esimov has depicted three basic directions on which the city will develop further. First is creation of an industrial zone in Alatausky area. There it will be constructed 110 industrial and municipal enterprises. Secondly, transformation of Almaty region into tourist object, development of mounting skiing resorts. In the long term tourism will give to ten percent of gross national product of the country. In the third, this is perfection of transport system of Almaty. The municipal motor car park including 200 new buses is already created. Also 200 trolley buses will be bought. The centralized automated control system of public transport is created. The tram along the street Tole bi with prospect of prolongation of its lines to Talgar and Kaskelen will be started. In 2011 building of underground will end and the second turn of east loop road is put into operation.
